Wine Plus magazine No. 71 – Summer 2026

Το Wine Plus magazine είναι ένα free press υψηλής αισθητικής που ασχολείται με το κρασί, τη γαστρονομία, τα spirits, τις οινογαστρονομικές περιηγήσεις.

Κυκλοφορεί από το 2003 και διανέμεται ευρέως, πάντα δωρεάν, από επιλεγμένα σημεία στη Θεσσαλονίκη και την Αθήνα: κάβες, deli, café-bar, εστιατόρια, ξενοδοχεία, βιβλιοπωλεία κλπ. καθώς και με κατ΄ οίκον αποστολή σε επιλεγμένους παραλήπτες.

Από το 2016 παράλληλα με το Wine  Plus magazine κυκλοφορούν οι Wine Plus guides. Ειδικές εκδόσεις που καταγράφουν τον Ελληνικό αμπελώνα και τα κρασιά του ακολουθώντας την πρακτική των σύγχρονων οδηγών οινοτουρισμού.

Greek grape varieties

Greece, although being a small wine-producing country, boasts one of the ‘richest’ vineyards in the world and cultivates a unique treasure on its soil. 
The indigenous grape varieties that are responsible for the uniqueness and diversity of Greek wines.  

There are hundreds of Greek grape varieties!
In the texts of ancient Greek authors, historians, and philosophers, more than 90 are mentioned. 
The National Catalogue includes approximately 250 names and synonyms of Greek grape varieties. 
The country’s ampelographic collections, together with synonyms, types, variants, or possible clones, host more than 550!

In the Summer 2026 issue we describe 12 Greek grape varieties.
White, pink-skinned, and red.
Assyrtiko, Malagousia, Muscat White, Muscat of Alexandria, Savatiano, Vidiano.
Moschofilero, Roditis.
Agiorgitiko, Liatiko, Limniona, Xinomavro. 
The most widespread as well as some rare varieties, which were saved from extinction thanks to the efforts and persistence of Greek winemakers.
